Mandatory Account Confirmations:

All aircraft operators must confirm their Account Data in the Union Register. The way to confirm official statements to each register authority is different in EU countries. Germany transmits the data by means of the virtual Post Office VPS where plant operators have to send their confirmation.

The confirmation has to take place always between 1st October and end of December and has to be sent until 31st December.

In any case it has to be confirmed that all statements/data of the register account are complete, updated, correct and exact.

Have your CORSIA emission report for 2019 verified:

Starting 01. January 2019, all aeroplane operators are required to monitor CO2 emissions from international flights.
We recommend to reach out to the State that administers your airline (usually the State which is mentioned in the ICAO designator or AOC) and inquire about the CORSIA annual emission report template and submission deadlines for this year.

Now in 2020 operators have to submit a verified emission report for 2019 to the national State Authority to which they are attributed. Prior to to the submission of the report, the collected flight and emissions data has to be verified by an accredited verification body.

Switzerland starts aviation ETS / MP submission by Sept 2017:

Aviation activities to and from Switzerland are to be included in the Swiss ETS, according to the linking agreement. To prepare for this inclusion, aircraft operators will be required to monitor and report tonne-kilometre data (tkm data) relating to flights as specified by the Ordinance on the Acquisition and Reporting of Tonne-Kilometre Data relating to Distances Covered by Aircraft (tkm-Ordinance) during 2018. The resulting data are to serve as a basis for calculating the free allocation of aviation emission allowances for aircraft operators and the maximum amount of available aviation emission allowances in the Swiss ETS.

To ensure the correct monitoring of the data, aircraft operators who carry out activities in accordance with the tkm-Ordinance must compile a monitoring plan and submit it to the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) for evaluation by not later than 30 September 2017.

New DEHSt Guideline for Aircraft Operators:

The German Competent Authority DEHSt has published a new Guide for aircraft operators to create CO2 emissions reports for the reporting years 2013 to 2020

CORSIA Baseline MRV for Aircraft Operators:

MRV stands for Monitoring reporting and Verification. MRV is the underlying process for Greenhous Gas Reports by installations and operators.
ICAO's CORSIA Sytsem is a Global Market-Based Measure (GMBM) to compensate post-2020 emissions growth from international aviation.

Aircraft operators, (in ICAO speak aeroplane operators) with international flights will be required to undergo the MRV process for CORSIA.
Step 1 is an emissions Monitoring Plan (MP)

Step 2 is the annual emissions report (AEM)
Step 3 is the 3rd party verification
Step 4 is the submission to the responsible State Authority

ICAO's official first milestone for the submission of the verified Annual Emissions Report for the baseline year 2019 is May 31st 2020.
